Biography

MICHAEL HAWKINS is a PhD candidate in history at the University of California at Los Angeles. He is currently researching and writing a dissertation entitled, “Something Else: US-Philippine Cinematic Relations, 1946-1986” that examines how film served as a cultural mediator between the United States and the Philippines in the postcolonial period.
