Abstract

The cover design is a painting on parchment by Ivy Marie Apa. Popcorn, a glucose-filled snack that accompanies cinematic consumption is here seen strewn on the surface of an article that discusses regional cinema. Reception is mediated by consumption and consumption per se, a la de Certeau, is creative, as with the “region” which is contrived in the very midst of cinematic production and consumption.
